Because the Mac you own is still amazing and fast as the day you bought it! Why upgrade?
This is because at times I forget or the setting doesn't work and VSCode updates and won't run. So here is the link to the download. Maybe save that download on your hard drive too.

IMPORTANT - You MUST block the auto update from happening in settings.
Search 'update' and set to none. If you don't do this you will go back to step 1 and have to reinstall. Luckily reinstalling older version is non destructive. You can leave the extensions to update so far as I can see though some may complain eventualy that they wont support this legacy 1.97 version.
